Octopus Animation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbEz7wyvZKE

My animation is supposed to be a perfect loop but I haven't been able to find a gif maker that will loop such a long video.  When it's opened in Quicktime you can set it to loop.

All the Quiet

This is my animation, called “All the Quiet;” it is a poem I wrote about finding peace in nature, animated with cut paper and found objects:

Lego Animation

http://youtu.be/jD0R9daYM4s

This is an Anti-Drone message for all those who are effected by it in Pakistan and around the world. And for all those who are participating in executing the drones strikes. It is a Lego animation project created in a set and most of the sounds created through Triton Korg Le on Garage Band.

Sprout Animation

Here is my animation.  It is called Sprout...  The music was composed and performed by my 12 year old daughter, Lucy.  I created this piece as a reflection to the horrific event that occurred recently in Boston.  Enjoy it.

Rachael's Stop Motion Animation Video - Final Project

Last semester I did research on Colombian international students studying in the United States.  During one of my interviews, a male student recalled a story from his childhood where he and his family were traveling and got stopped by the FARC.  They were questioned, and there was a fear of the entire family being kidnapped.  This is his story, in stop-motion animation form, how I pictured it.

Anne Soundtrack

I'm using the poem from Def Poetry jam by Shihan called this type love. It isn't originally his, however I'm using the audio of him performing it; it's originally by Saul Williams. It's in a public domain and I'm mentioning him in my animation. I'm planning on using the whole poem for my stop-motion; I don't know if that's against the rules of fair use. I know that if the title and the author is mentioned then permission isn't exactly needed. I had to convert this into mp3 because I couldn't find the audio version anywhere.

Anne Storyboard

I'll be illustrating my piece. I had an idea in class, but, I decided I wouldn't be able to accomplish it with the technology that I have available. I'm going to illustrate a still image to capture a poem by read out loud by Shihan on def Jam poetry. The idea is that as the animation goes on, the drawing will progress on and on. And I really loved the zooming in and out of the images in Sita Sings the blues and thought I could sort of copy that a bit.

The poem is about the love of a man for his women so I wanted to focus on that through an illustration. Because the poem is so strong itself that I don't think much needs to be going on with the animation. I want it to have a scrapbook feel. Like you were flipping through an album of unfinished sketches or something. I want it to be simple and to the point. It's basically a stop-motion drawing in progress. I remember seeing something like this on youtube and really loved it. It was hand-drawn motion story.
